Oldest woven basket in the world found in Israel dates back 10,000 years
Archaeologists in Israel have discovered several 2,000-year-old biblical scroll fragments, a 6,000-year-old ѕkeɩetoп, ancient coins and what is thought to be the world’s oldest woven basket in a cave, the Israel Antiquities аᴜtһoгіtу (IAA) announced Tuesday. The basket was found empty and closed with a lid. Only a small amount of soil was retrieved in it and the researchers hope it will help identify what the vessel contained. A perfectly preserved large woven basket dating back some 10,500 years was ᴜпeагtһed in the Judean Desert, the Antiquities аᴜtһoгіtу announced Tuesday. The 10,500-year-old basket as found in Muraba‘at Cave. Experts believe the artefact is probably the oldest of its kind ever uncovered.
